Bruce Wallace, MD uses this Limbal Relaxing Incision Kit which consists of a Diamond Knife, a Mendez Gauge and sterilzing tray. 0.12mm toothed colibri forceps are also used, but not supplied with the kit.
The Wallace LRI Diamond Knife has a 600 micron preset depth blade with a single footplate that allows you to visualize your path as you pass the knife through the cornea. 550 and 500 micron preset blade depths are also avaliable. The knife handle is thin and streamlined for finger twirling as the blade follows the arcuate pattern of the limbus. The Wallace Mendez Degree Gauge features 10° interval marks (it's designed for surgeons familiar with use of a standard phoropter) which orientate where the axis are and the intended incision will be. The toothed colibri forceps are designed for marking the cornea for the axis initally, and then the borders of the intended incision. Then the forceps aid the fixation of the globe during an LRI procedure.	WARNING: Videos may contain actual surgery footage; this can be graphic and unsuitable for some people.

The single footplate profile of the diamond knife locates inside the degree fixation marker. By allowing the blade to follow the inner circumference of the degree fixation marker, a controlled incision can be created.		The Barrett LRI diamond knife has a unique double sided footplate for lateral support on the diamond blade, with an opening behind the footplate to give good visibility. The mark for the incision path is created on the cornea with the Barrett LRI Marker.		Using the Gayton 360 degree marker with centre pointer, 36 marks at 10° intervals are created on the cornea, of which 2 larger marks identfy the axis. A Mendez gauge is used to help identify the axis.
